Epiretinal Membranes

It is called cellophane maculopathy.  It is the proliferation of cells in the superficial layer of the retina, and when this area contracts, it can cause vision distortion.  The incidents of this illness rise greatly with age.  It resides in 20% of the population over 75 years of age, and in 20-30% of the cases it resides in both eyes.
