Congenital Cataracts
Hereditary cataracts are caused by complications during the development of the embryo and are present at birth.
Secondary Cataracts
This is the opaqueness of the back capsule where the intraocular lens is located. It can appear months or years after normal cataract surgery. It is generated by the growth of epithelial veil behind the intraocular lens. It only rarely occurs during the first three months after surgery. The patient’s youth is the main factor in determining the possibility of the appearance of secondary cataracts.
Trauma Cataracts
This form of cataracts can be brought about by ocular trauma of any kind. Any amount of trauma can bring about this form of the condition, and they have a very rapid evolution upon appearance. |
